• Dr. Douglas M. Poorman , Licensed Veterinarian

  
  

  I am a 1997 graduate of the Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine. I have been practicing veterinary medicine for 11 years and have had the opportunity to work on large and small animals, as well as a variety of exotic pets. Petplex Animal Hospital opened in November of 2003 and I have appreciated the generous support of the Buckeye Lake community.     I currently have 2 pets of my own, a Beagle named Scooter and an Australian Shepherd named Rebel. Most of the pets that I have had over the past years have all been hard luck cases, which is how most veterinarians (and staff) seem to acquire their pets.     I am pleased that my staff and I are able to provide exceptional care for the pets in our community. We always try to treat our patients with the same care that we would want for those special ones in our lives.

  I am Dr. Williamson, I started at Petplex in April 2007. I have a Bachelor of Science from Georgetown College, and received my veterinary degree from the Ohio State University. I have been working in the Licking County area since 2005.          I am married with one son. I have 3 dogs, 2 guinea pigs, and a rabbit. I enjoy reading, traveling, and crafts, as well as spending time with my family.

  Hi, my name is Dawn Faught. I have been working here at Petplex Animal Hospital since we opened in November 2003. I am currently the Office Manager. I have worked in the veterinary field for 16 years.      I enjoy animals and working with people, so I find my job very rewarding. I have had a wide variety of animals since I was small. Most of my animals are special needs cases from the clinic. I also enjoy reading, cooking, and being outdoors.

  My name is Jenna Uffner. I am originally from Wapakoneta, Ohio. I started out at the Ohio State University after graduating high school with a major in Animal Sciences. I then switched over to Columbus State Community College and graduated with a degree in Veterinary Technology. I am now a Registered VeterinaryTechnician and have been working in the field for the last 5 years. I have been with Petplex Animal Hospital for the last 3 years. I have a yorkie named Lizzie, a yellow lab named Stetson, and 2 cats.

• Tiffany Davis , Registered Veternian Technician

  
  

  I am a 2003 graduate of Watkins Memorial High School and a 2007 graduate of the Vet Tech Institute at Bradford Schools. I have an Associate Degree in Veterinary Technology and have successfully completed the VTNE (Veterinary Technology National Exam). I am now living on my 24 acre farm with my 3 horses, 4 dogs, and 3 cats. My 2 quarter horses (Beau & Rose) are used for barrel racing, which has been a hobby of mine since I was 8 years old. My paint horse, Kid is a 3 year old and has just been started on the trails. My 4 dogs  (Rowdy, Australian Shepherd, Dane, Great Dane, Emmie, Boxer, and Bailey, Weimaraner) enjoy chasing the 4-wheeler daily and swimming in the pond, while my cats (Angus, Houston, and Jackson) defend my barn. Like most people in this field, I have a great passion for animals and spend a lot of time helping find homes for animals in need. I have treated, fostered, and placed several animals in the past year and hope that I can continue to give more back to the animals that give so much to me.

  I am a graduate of Lakewood High School. I have always loved working with animals since I was very young. I have experience with anything from small pocket pets to farm animals. I have worked as a veterinary assistant for 6 years, it is always full of excitement. I have a cat and a ferrett. As a child my family raised cockers and labs. Always having little pups running around is exciting. My hobbies include horseback riding and spending time with my wonderful son, and family.

  My name is Amanda Swick, I am a 2006 graduate of Sheridan High School, and a 2007 graduate of Bradford Vet-Tech Institute, where my Associate of Applied Science Degree in the veterinary program. Animals have always been a large part of my life. I was a 10 year member of Stablemates 4-H club, and a three year member of FFA. In my spare time, I enjoy volunteering for the pony express (Horseback riding program for disabled children), giving riding lessons, and spending time with my family and animals. I have five horses, one pony, three dogs, three cats, and one rabbit. I have been working in the veterinary field and caring for animals for the past 2 years, and I enjoy my occupation.

I have an assiciates degree in Technical Science and have also successfully completed the Veterinary Technician National Exam (VTNE). I have worked in the veterinary field since 2003. I own 2 cats named Bryan and Elvis, a Great Dane named Lacey, and a rabbit named Sweet Pea. I have always enjoyed working with animals and love my occupation as a veterinary technician.

  My Name is Megan Welch and I am a technician here at Petplex. I have worked  here for about 2 years. I graduated from Lakewood High School and the Bradford Vet-Tech Institute with an associates degree in Veterinary Technology. I have 3 cats named Sampson, Apollo and Selene. Like most people in this field, they were adopted when in need of a good home. I like to spend time with my husband and friends. We are expecting our first child in December and just bought our first home in Thornville.

  I am "K", a graduate of Bexley High School. I also graduated from Capital University and then continued my education at Columbus State Community College, where I received my degree in Veterinary Technology. I have practiced a as Registered Veterinary Technician for 30 plus years. Currently I have 3 dogs, Happy, Roo and Fly Boy, this number is subject to change on any given day. I love helping animals. I also volunteer for a friend who started a program in our prison system called Second Chance, to train and find homes for dogs. I am also active in many organizations associated with the Buckeye Lake community.

  My name is Kalyn Alloway, but I go by K.J. I am originally from Wheeling, West Virginia. I moved to Newark in September of 2008. I graduated from the Vet Tech Institute in Pittsburgh, PA and have an Associates Degree in Specialized Technology. I have also successfully completed the Veterinary Technician National Exam to become a registered veterinary technician. I have recently enlisted in the United States Army as an Animal Care Specialist to care for all types of animals all over the world.

  I am a fulltime receptionist. I have worked in customer service for 18 years. I have a wonderful husband, and 2 boys that are very active in 4-H and FFA. I have always been an animal lover. We have 3 cats, 3 dogs, and 4 horses. We also raise market hogs, turkeys and steers for show at our county fair. I enjoy living in the country, cooking, horses, camping, and being with my family and friends.

  My name is Amanda Tonneman. I graduated from Fisher Catholic High School. I am currently attending Ohio University, Lancaster branch. I have been around the veterinary field since I was 5 years old. I would go to my mother's work after school and watch the doctors do surgery, or help in the office doing little jobs. I have always loved working with animals and have many of my own. Currently I have 5 cats, all rescues, and a guinea pig. I love reading, taking photos, and the outdoors.

  My name is Darcie Davis and I am a receptionist at Petplex. I'm a graduate from Watkins Memorial High School. I am currently pursuing a nursing degree at Ohio University, Zanesville. I love animals, I have three dogs, Echo, (a Toy Fox Terrier), Mocha, (a Mountain Cur), and Spaz, (a German Shepherd). I also have a horse named Bodie. I love the outdoors, and in my spare time I enjoy running and horseback riding.

  Hi, my name is Tracy Gray and I have been a dog groomer for 17 years. I have participated in local compititions, competing against 20-30 people. I have a black Standard Poodle named Sayzar who has been very loyal to me throughout the competitions. I enjoy grooming dogs and cats and look forward to going to work everyday. It is a plus to take an animal and make it look pretty. Working in a clinic atmosphere is great, because if there is a skin or ear issue it can be taken care of while the animal is being groomed. My hobbies are grooming competitions and horseback riding. I own 2 horses of my own. They are great animals. I have raised dogs most of my life and take pride in quality dogs. Cocker Spaniels were my first breed and the Labrador was my second. I enjoy all the animals and their parents.
